Hello, and welcome to my blog!

I’m Amber and I created this blog site to offer support, compassion and a place for women to feel uplifted, and most importantly not alone, when it comes to struggling with infertility. Trying to conceive and struggling with infertility is just difficult, painful, and a roller coaster of emotions. 6.1 million women in the United States struggle with this, and yet we don’t talk about it?! Ladies, you are not alone…lets start talking about this. I’d like to begin by sharing some of my history, and hopefully bringing some insight, humor, and companionship to you.

I currently live in Arvada, Colorado with my husband Rick. We are both Colorado natives (there are so few of us left). You may be thinking I’m some sort of professional skier or snowboarder, having lived in Colorado my entire life, but quite the contrary. I dislike all things cold and I am an embarrassment to the ski and snowboarding community. My husband on the other hand is a very talented skier and has recently become obsessed with “sledding” (snowmobiling for us amateurs). He is also an entrepreneur and business owner, so his free time is few and far between for his various hobbies.

 

Over the past four years, my husband and I were faced with many challenges, however I must say that I count my blessings every single day. I am thankful for the medical staff at Conceptions, I am thankful to God, I am thankful that IVF was an option for my family, I am thankful for the love and support of my wonderful husband, and my friends and family, and I am thankful for my children, Ellenor and Ari.

Okay, lets shift gears a bit and lay off of the heavy stuff. I’m 32 years old, a Colorado native (there are so few of us left), and I met my husband, the love of my life, when I was 16. I work in the energy business, which has been a very fulfilling career. I love what I do, and the fact that I am Type-A, with a mild case of OCD has truly come in handy in my profession, although my husband might tell you there’s nothing handy about those two characteristics. I’m obsessed with fall in Colorado, although I love nothing about the cold. I’m impulsive, I own around 90 sweaters-I can’t stop buying them, as they are my obsession, Orchids are my jam, and I’m extremely interested in astrology…I am a Scorpio. If you know anything about Scorpios, we are referred to as the most intense of all signs; emotions are important as well as intuition. I’m genuine, open, honest and I skip all the B.S. I also have two dogs, who have provided us with a lot of love over the past 10 years, especially those years when we were trying to conceive.

I love meeting new people, collaborating and helping to navigate the silver lining during trying times. I’m looking forward to this journey and meeting some amazing people along the way!
